HOW TO HELP
DONATE TIME
Volunteers are the heart of Habitat for Humanity. Through volunteer labor and tax deductible donations of money and materials, houses can be built or renovated with the help of the homeowner (partner) families. People from all walks of life are invited to work together in partnership to help build houses with families in need.
Volunteer your time (skilled or unskilled labor) for office work, administration, fundraising, and promotion.
We have a special need for those with roofing, framing, drywall, plumbing, electrical skills.
We are in need of 6 part-time volunteers on a regular basis for our ReStore in Gary, Indiana. You would be assisting in receiving the in-kind donations(items donated by individuals & companies to sell for raising funds to build Habitat homes in Lake County, Indiana), which arrive at the ReStore, of various home building materials and furniture. Light cleaning and organization of donated items is also needed. You can donate a half day a week or an entire day. All help is welcomed.
